Day 4 for our crew at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup in Porto Cervo!

At the fourth day of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup a 36 nautical miles coastal course was chosen for the Maxi Racing Class, in which the Esimit Sailing Team is competing. Our crew had a good race with nice breeze of 15 – 20 knots. Spanish navigator Juan Vila: “For the Esimit Sailing Team it was a good race with nice breeze and without any mistakes at manoeuvres. Even from the tactical point of view everything went smoothly. We were extremely cautious when sailing so close to the coast and sometimes our canting keel was just few meters away from the reefs and underwater rocks. We have seen damages on the boats  even at this edition of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, that is why we had to constantly pay attention on the course in front of us. Overall, I would say that as a team we are improving all the time, we are highly motivated. I simply enjoy sailing with such a perfect crew.”  Our crew started at 11:30 and took line honours by completing the course in 2 hours 35 minutes 42 seconds, 15 minutes ahead of the nearest competitor.
