The new crew member of the Esimit Sailing Team is Ivan Kljaković Gašpić, multiple European champion in different sailing classes and also recipient of prestigious “Croatian Sportsman of the Year” award. The Croatian sailor  is looking forward to support the Esimit Sailing Team in achieving further successes.

Ivan started sailing in 1996 at the age of 12 in Optimist class. After a short period of training and competing at national and a few international events, he won his first major title in 1998. Today, Ivan’s impressive list of titles includes two European Championship titles, recently he also participated at the Olympic Games in London 2012, where he finished fifth, just outside the medal table in the last race.

Regarding his involvement in the Esimit Sailing Team  he stated: “I am honoured to be a part of one of the most ambitious sporting projects in the world. This is a big recognition not just for me personally, but also for the entire Croatia as a maritime country. We Croatians are extremely successful in Olympic sailing classes; therefore I am looking forward to the new challenge and at the same time prove that we can be equally successful by sailing big boats. Being part of the international team of sailing superstars is just an additional motivation for me to work really hard to contribute towards Esimit Europa 2’s next victories.”
